Gentamicin is one of the few thermally stable antibiotics and is therefore widely used in medium configurations.Wide-spectrum antibiotics independently developed by China are one of the great scientific and technological achievements since the founding of the People's Republic of China.It began to develop in 1967, successfully identified at the end of 1969, the name "gentamicin", meaning to celebrate the "nine" and the celebration of the greatness of the working class.Gentamicin [gentamycin] is an alkaline compound extracted from the fermentation culture medium of Monospore genus of Actinomycetes. It is a commonly used aminoglycoside antibiotic.It is mainly used to treat bacterial infections, especially those caused by gram-negative bacteria.Gentamicin can bind to 30S subunit of bacterial ribosome and block bacterial protein synthesis.
Active against a wide range of bacterial infections, mostly Gram-negative bacteria including Pseudomonas, Proteus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterobacter aerogenes, Serratia, and the Gram-positive Staphylococcus.
1. It is suitable for the treatment of neonatal sepsis and sepsis caused by sensitive bacteria.
2. It is suitable for the treatment of respiratory tract infection, peritonitis and biliary tract infection caused by sensitive bacteria.
3. It is suitable for the treatment of genitourinary system infection caused by sensitive bacteria (except for the initial treatment of simple urinary tract infection).
4. It is suitable for the treatment of sensitive bacteria caused by skin and soft tissue infection, burn sentimental infection, etc.
5. Oral use can be used for intestinal infections or in preparation for colon surgery
6. Intramuscular injection of clindamycin or metronidazole in combination may be used to reduce the incidence of infection after colon surgery.
7. Intracastal injection can be used as adjuvant treatment for severe central nervous system infections (acute suppurative meningitis, ventriculitis) caused by Pseudomonas ceruginosa or Staphylococcus.
8. Gentamicin is also used to treat listeriosis.
