Levodopa is a precursor substance of dopamine, and it is an internationally used drug name. Different manufacturers have different trade names when the drugs are on the market. Oral levodopa tablets generally disintegrate and melt in the stomach, then discharge to the duodenum, and then reach the small intestine, where they are absorbed into the blood at the upper end of the small intestine, and a small amount of levodopa can eventually enter the brain through the "blood-brain barrier".
